Cherry Blossoms (Ode to Sakura)

Cherry Blossoms (Ode to Sakura) makes it easy to give a traditional Japanese folk song performance without venturing outside of what is playable by an end of year, beginning string orchestra. The piece uses simple bowings, dotted half, half, quarter, eighth notes, and simple slurs. Take special note of the occasional C# on the G string in the violin and viola sections. Nothing is outside of what is playable by a first year, beginning string orchestra.

Autumn Themed String Orchestra Unit

This Autumn-themed unit teaches students the B minor scale, and comes jam-packed with minor exercises, as well as three Autumn-themed full pieces.
